Mats Carpets

A mat is a kind of floor covering, often smaller than a rug or carpet. You might buy a sea grass mat to put in your bedroom, or a door mat for your apartment entryway.

Carpet matting occurs when the fibers in your carpet become compressed and entangled, losing their original texture and bounce. This issue is often more common in high-traffic areas where constant foot traffic presses down on the carpet, causing the fibers to flatten over time.

Most rugs are made of fibres, either natural or synthetic. Over time, these fibres can interlock, creating the dreaded matting effect. This can be exacerbated by dirt, dust, and even cleaning products not suited to your rug's material.
